Sera is the same assistant by text and by phone as she is in the app. Text her a thought, a photo or a voice memo. Call her to talk an idea through. Everything she hears goes into your Brain.

Set up your phone

‍

1. Go to Settings → Train Sera → Text reminders & caller ID, or do it during onboarding.
2. Enter your mobile number and check the box to agree to texts from Sera.
3. Enter the 6-digit code Sera texts you.
4. Make sure Can Sera text you is on in Sera controls.

Sera texts you from her number. Save it, and reply or call that number.

Text Sera

‍

• Ask her anything, the same as in chat.
• Photos and video go to your Library. Videos are transcribed.
• Documents and links go to your Brain.
• Send up to 10 attachments in one message.
• Voice memos are transcribed and treated as your reply. For example, you can answer an interview question by voice memo. If a memo cannot be played, Sera asks you to type it instead.

Call Sera

‍

• Call Sera's number from your verified phone and she picks up.
• Text CALL and she calls you.
• Calls are recorded so nothing you say gets lost.
• If Sera calls you and gets voicemail, she texts you instead.

Calls from another phone

‍

• If you call from an unverified number that is already on file, Sera emails a 6-digit code to the account. Read the code back to her to continue.
• If Sera does not know the number, she asks if you have an account. She looks you up by email or name and emails a code to the account's address.
• Callers without an account are pointed to sign up at sera.dipity.studio.
• Unknown numbers can call up to 3 times a day.

Stop texts

‍

Reply STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE or OPT OUT. Clear phrases such as "stop texting me" or "opt me out" work too. Reply START to turn texts back on.

A message like "Cancel the 3pm post" is a command to Sera, not an opt-out.

Quiet hours

‍

Sera does not text, call or book calendar time during your quiet hours. The default is 9 PM to 8 AM in your timezone. Change it in Settings → Train Sera → Sera controls → Never contact me. Turn on Don't contact me on holidays to skip US federal holidays.

• Texting and calls are free within fair use.
• Voice time comes from your plan's free voice minutes: 0.4 minutes per $1 of plan price. After that, voice is 2.5 credits a minute.
• Message and data rates may apply.
