Sera writes from what you tell her, so everything starts with a conversation. Your weekly interview is short: ten minutes, not ten forms. Pick the format that fits your day. Progress carries across formats, so you can start by text and finish on a call.

In Playbooks, open a section and type your answers, or use the mic to speak them.

Answer on camera

‍

1. Choose Answer on camera.
2. Allow camera and microphone access. A current Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox on a laptop or desktop works best.
3. Sera asks each question out loud. Answer on camera. She hears when you finish and moves on.
4. The recording is saved to Library → Recordings, ready to clean up or clip.

Text (SMS)

‍

1. Verify your phone and agree to texts. See Authentication.
2. In Playbooks, choose Have Sera text or call you, then have Sera text you the first question.
3. Reply in your own words. You can also send a voice memo. Sera transcribes it and treats it as your answer.

Keywords you can text:

• INTERVIEW: start or resume your interview.
• SKIP: skip the current question.
• PAUSE: pause the interview.
• CALL: switch to a phone call.
• HELP: get help.
• STOP: stop all texts. START turns them back on.

Phone call

‍

1. Verify your phone so Sera recognizes you.
2. Have Sera call you from Playbooks, text CALL, or call Sera's number yourself.
3. Talk naturally. Sera asks follow-up questions as you go. Calls are recorded, and what you say goes into your Brain.

Book a live call

‍

1. Connect Google Calendar in Integrations.
2. In Playbooks, choose Book a live call and pick a time.
3. You get a calendar invite with a Google Meet link. At that time, Sera joins and interviews you live.

Set your interview cadence

‍

Go to Settings → Train Sera → Sera controls → Interview cadence and choose Daily, Weekly, Monthly or Off. Use How often Sera reaches out to set check-ins between interviews. Sera respects your quiet hours, 9 PM to 8 AM by default.

Interviews are free. Phone time counts toward your plan's free voice minutes: 0.4 minutes per $1 of plan price, so 40 minutes on a $100 plan. After that, voice is 2.5 credits a minute.
