Overview

Video Studio is where you work with real footage: record, cut and clip it. Click Video Studio in the left rail, under Create. At the top, tell Sera what you want in What should we do with your footage?, or drop files into the box. Below are the tools: Edit video, Clip video, Audiogram, Interviews & supercuts, Record your screen and Recordings.

Record a video with Record now

1. Click Record now.
2. Choose a source: Camera, Screen or Screen + camera.
3. Choose a format: YouTube (16:9) or Shorts/Reels (9:16).
4. Click Plan with Sera. The side chat opens and Sera asks what the video is about. She can start from your latest interview answers.
5. Sera writes the script in the chat. Click Approve, Revise or Decline.
6. Approved scripts go on the teleprompter. Turn it on or off with the Teleprompter toggle. It scrolls over the camera while you record.
7. Hit Record. When you stop, the take opens in the editor.

You can also write a script yourself, pick a talking point, get questions to answer, or reuse a saved script. Only approved scripts appear on the teleprompter.

Add media while you record

Use the pop-outs on the right: Motion graphics, Media, B-roll and Layouts. Sera can suggest motion graphics and B-roll for your script's beats. On camera takes, place media as a corner bubble, a split, a before/after or cutaways.

Record your screen with your camera

‍

1. Click Record your screen.
2. Share your whole screen, a window or a browser tab.
3. Your camera sits in a circle or square bubble. Drag it to any corner.
4. Record, pause or restart. Stop saves the take as a clip. Record another clip keeps sharing live.

In Chrome and Edge, a floating window shows your camera, the timer and the controls over any app.

Edit a video

‍

1. Click Edit video and pick a video.
2. Edit the transcript like a document. Delete a sentence and it is cut from the video.
3. Use AI cleanup to remove filler words, false starts, rambles and repeats.
4. Place media Full, Shoulder or PiP.
5. Add captions, including karaoke style, plus a lower third, title card, quote, stat callout, B-roll and your Brand.
6. Pick a layout, such as a corner bubble. Use Swap to switch which feed is in the bubble.

Clips, audiograms and supercuts

• Clip video: turns a long video into vertical shorts with captions.
• Audiogram: a captioned waveform clip from your audio.

Good to know

• Clips cost about 5 credits per source minute.
• A video render costs 20 credits.
• Screen recording needs a desktop browser such as Chrome, Edge or Firefox.
• Every take is saved to Library → Recordings.
